Agriland FS Scholarship

On behalf of AGRILAND FS and the Agriland FS Foundation, we’re
pleased to offer two new scholarships this year for individuals with parents
living in our trade territory. (Please see map below)
One
- $1,000 Community College – 2nd year scholarship—
typically
designed for the student currently enrolled in community college as an ag
business, ag tech, precision ag, or ag transfer major.
One
- $1,500 University or four-year College Institution – 3rd year
scholarship—
for
ag major with minor or emphasis in agronomy/crop production. Applicants
may be a community college ag transfer student or a current undergraduate
student at a four-year university.
Please
use the scholarship application for undergraduate student.
Deadline
is February 1, 2014.

CPS Internship
CPS Wholesale Internship
CPS
wholesale division is seeking qualified students interested in an internship
position for summer of 2014. This will
be a full time position in which compensation will be received. There will be multiple positions available in
the Western Corn Belt Region.
Crop Production Services Wholesale
Division
Crop Production Services Wholesale is
a division of Crop Production Services which is the largest Ag retail company
in the U.S. CPS is owned by its parent company Agrium which is a wholesale
fertilizer corporation based out of Canada. The wholesale division is the
distribution business of supplying Co-op’s and independently owned Ag retail
businesses with chemical and fertilizer. We supply products from several manufactures
including, but not limited to Syngenta, Monsanto, Bayer, BASF, Dow, FMC, etc.
We also have our own product line up called Loveland Products Incorporated
along with our own seed brand DynaGro.
Qualifications
ü Must be pursuing a degree in an Agricultural
related major.
ü Knowledge and experience with
Agronomy or Sales is desired.
ü Must have a valid driver’s license
and an acceptable driving record.
Position Description
Interns will be
working with CPS wholesale sales representatives to help promotes sales and
market unique products to customers which are Coops or Independently owned Ag
retail businesses. Interns will primarily use our NutriScription program. Each intern will learn the Nutriscription
program and process so that they are able to generate tissue samples and assist
sales representatives with setting up accounts with CPS wholesale clientele. The interns will primarily work with the
sales representative and Nutriscription specialist by his or herself, however
the interns will work as a team in an effort to promote the program and
Loveland Products Inc.
Interns will also be
involved in test plots, product trials and other projects where interns will
engage in research and expected to record data. Each intern will have an individual project
that they will also work on during the summer.
At the end of the summer each intern will give an informative
presentation on their project and internship alike.
Skills Required
Ø Excellent written and verbal
communication skills and must have the ability to effectively communicate via
cell phone and email etc.
Ø Must have ability to use basic
computer functions such as Microsoft word, excel and power point.
Ø Interns must possess the attributes
needed to lead presentations, answer questions and problem solve.
Ø Must be a self starter that has strong
organizational skills and time management abilities.
Schedule
This position is typically 40 hours a
week. Interns can expect this time
divided into an array of tasks related to NutriScription and Loveland Products
in order to expose them to several valuable experiences and opportunities.

JOB DESCRIPTION
FLM
seeks to provide both three and six month account service communication
internships to individuals who are pursuing degree(s) in agriculture
communications, agriculture business, journalism and related fields. Duties
will include, but are not limited to:
§ Attending
client meetings
§ Generating
action reports and correspondence
§ Writing
press releases
§ Researching
and writing weekly reports for assigned project(s)
§ Completion
of a Capstone project
QUALIFICATIONS
Successful
candidates will have completed their sophomore year in pursuit of a B.S. or
B.A. at a four-year college/university. Candidates with strong written and oral
communications skills combined with a passion for the agricultural sciences,
the biological sciences and related fields should apply.
To
ensure an FLM internship provides a valuable experience, interns will be
assigned a mentor or ‘buddy’ at the beginning to gain an understanding of our
standards of performance, culture, and gain exposure to a variety of
assignments that will provide the best possible learning experience.
