Farmers Entrepreneur Panel Discussion
CALS Students,
Do you have a desire to return
to the family farm or start your own farm after graduation? Want to gain an
understanding of how you can add value and diversity back to that operation?
With the current industry trends and projections, there are many opportunities
for growth and we would like to show you how.
Iowa State’s College of
Agriculture and Life Sciences students are invited to attend the 2nd
Annual Farmer Entrepreneur Panel Discussion showcasing successful farm
operators, agricultural business owners, and their spouses from across Iowa.
This event is sponsored by Nancy Pellett and the Iowa Farm Bureau.
The Farmer Entrepreneur Panel
Discussion will bring together a variety of farm owners/operators and students
to create a unique dialogue regarding the future of production agriculture, the
opportunities for value creation and innovation in operations, and the family
dynamic that is so important in Midwest farming.
Guest entrepreneur panelists will include: Gary Kunde &
Wes – generational farm without direct family succession; Ryan Augustine – new
diversified producer & entrepreneur; Nathan Katzer – Iowa Farm Bureau, Farm
Business Development Manager; April Hemmes – diversified producer, founder of
Iowa Women in Agriculture; Matt Danner – Templeton Family Farms.

at 6:00pm

The panel discussion will begin
with a tapas reception for students and entrepreneurs beginning at 6:00pm and a
structured panel discussion to follow. Registration is FREE to students,
however limited registration is available. Students may register by emailing

Registration deadline is September 11th at 4:00pm.
