ISU Extension Fall Intern
Story County Extension announces an opening for a part-time 4-H Fall Intern to start August 26. Responsibilities include facilitating a 4-H afterschool program for grades 1-4 on Tuesday and Thursdays from 3:20-5:15 pm.  Additionally, help support the County 4-H Program with marketing, club development, and recognition.  Required: Valid driver’s license, ability to pass criminal background check and experience with youth programs. Job Description:  Fall 4-H Intern (Up to 300 hours at $8.00/hour)
·         Implement a 4-H Afterschool Program at the Nevada Resource Center
o   3:10-5:15 pm
o   1st & 2nd graders on Tuesdays and
o   3rd & 4th graders on Thursdays
o   use the Governor’s Initiative STEM Camp in a Can program.  (training August 22 1-3 pm in Ames)
·         Help market the 4-H program publically.
·         Potentially help start one new 4-H club (community radio, fishing, etc).
·         Plan one 4-H project based workshop for the county/region. 
·         Help plan and implement county 4-H events (workshops, lock-in, recognition, etc). 
·         Support the 4-H program by interacting with volunteers, committees, and 4-H families.
·         Encourage team atmosphere in program planning with staff members in county and region

Job Skills & Requirements:
·         Successful completion of background check.
·         Interest in ISU Extension and Outreach. 
·         Organized and have good communication skills. 
·         Hands-on experience in the areas of education, youth development, psychology, or other related field.
·         Knowledge of developmental youth milestones and characteristics.
·         Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision
·         Experience working with youth in classroom and/or informal youth programs
·         Ability and willingness to work in a team setting and to promote collaboration.
·         Ability and willingness to develop innovative and creative approaches to assigned responsibilities.
·         Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
·         Outgoing and personable nature.  Professional, respectful, and positive attitude.
·         Ability to lift and transport program supplies.
