Experimental
course ANS/FSHN/NREM 260X. This course will look at the multitude of
dimensions of selected controversial issues in agriculture. This class may count towards the CALS ethics requirement in the future. It will count towards the required Animal Science credit for Ag Studies.
ANS/FSHN/NREM 260X. Introduction to Controversies in Science
& Society. Introduction to evaluating controversial and multifaceted
issues in agriculture with particular cases that cut across natural resource
management, animal science and food science. Students will learn to critically
describe and analyze stakeholders' beliefs, values, and ethical arguments,
while determining the credibility of information sources. Further, they will
learn to justify and promote a position on controversial issues. 3 Cr. Tu/Th
