Important Message from the Registrar - please read



Welcome to ISU for Fall Semester 2013!

We hope you had a great summer and are ready for an exciting year at Iowa State University. We're glad you are here!

Iowa State University uses e-mail to provide official notices and information to students.

Though the following message is lengthy, it contains essential information for which you are responsible. This message is being sent to all Iowa State University students for Fall 2013 and can also be found online at http://www.registrar.iastate.edu/

CANCEL REGISTRATION
If your plans change and you decide not to attend ISU for fall, you MUST CANCEL your registration by:
* contacting the Office of the Registrar by Friday, August 23; 5 p.m., CST.
or
* drop all your classes on AccessPlus no later than 11 p.m., CST, Sunday, August 25.

If you do not drop all of your classes on or before August 23, you will owe tuition and fees. Instructions for cancellation are available at: http://www.registrar.iastate.edu/students/cancel-withdraw

ISU ALERT
The ISU Alert emergency notification system (see http://www.isualert.iastate.edu/) will quickly alert Iowa State University students, faculty and staff of potentially dangerous situations on the Iowa State University campus. For details on how to add or update your ISU Alert information see http://isualert.iastate.edu/update.php

EMERGENCY CONTACTS
The ISU Emergency Contact system will provide information for person(s) the university needs to contact in case of a personal emergency (e.g., if you are injured, become ill and cannot transport yourself). Note that this information is separate from your contact information and is not automatically updated. To submit your emergency contact information, go to AccessPlus and choose "Emergency Contact" from the left navigation menu on the homepage. This contact information is considered confidential and is only available to campus emergency response staff.

DIRECTORY INFORMATION
As a registered student, your name, ISU e-mail address, in-session address and phone number, curriculum and year-in-school will be published in the ISU Directory at http://www.info.iastate.edu/ unless you elect that your information be suppressed.

To opt out of ISU Directory/Public information, go to AccessPlus. Choose Address Change. You may choose to opt out of all directory/public information, or specify: in-session address; in-session telephone number; Iowa State email; or a combination of these three choices. See the Student Records portion of the catalog (http://catalog.iastate.edu/admissions/#studentrecordstext) for details about student records, and http://catalog.iastate.edu/admissions/#confidentialinformationtext for information about the confidentiality policy.

SCHEDULE CHANGE FEES AND DEADLINES
Schedule changes can be made using AccessPlus through Friday, August 30. System hours are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday-Saturday (excluding holidays). The system will also be available on Sunday, August 25 until 11 p.m. Beginning Tuesday, September 3, schedule changes will incur a $12 schedule change fee and will be processed through the Scheduling Office in 10 Enrollment Services Center.

VIEW YOUR DEGREE AUDIT FROM ACCESSPLUS
Degree Audit (DARSWeb)on AccessPlus allows you to view/print a degree audit and provides options to assist you with your degree planning.

CLASSROOM ASSIGNMENTS
Meeting rooms for your Fall 2013 courses are now available on your AccessPlus schedule and the Online Schedule of Classes: http://classes.iastate.edu. Room assignments are subject to change, so check often for any updates.

YOUR BILLING STATEMENT
Your most recent billing statement with Fall 2013 tuition and fees can be viewed on AccessPlus. You will not receive a statement in the mail. You may pay on-line or print a copy and mail your payment. Payments must be received no later than August 20, 2013.

TUITION ADJUSTMENT FOR REDUCTION IN CREDIT
Tuition and fees are based on credit load at 5:00 p.m. on the 10th day of class, September 9, 2013. This is the last day for adjustments downward in tuition and fee assessment. Schedule changes after September 9 will not be eligible for tuition reduction. Please note that this deadline does not apply to students who drop all classes. Students who withdraw from all credits are subject to the tuition adjustment schedule for withdrawals at:

Tuition and fees are subject to change by the University and Board of Regents, State of Iowa.
